Went last night as my fiancee would not eat of the hotel menu we were staying in! Ordered collection (which was v busy). Food arrived and was piping hot, tasty and not salty which I find chine food to mostly be. I had special King zoo and ribs in Peking sauce. Spot on and would go again when in the area. Btw staff are friendly too
I have never left a review before but I feel compelled to since reading borderline ones. My husband and our two children came to the Sunday lunch buffet - 16.90 for adults and 10.90 for children. Upon entering the restaurant, I was happy to see traditional Chinese restaurant decor. Then I spotted the buffet. At first, my greedy eyes thought oh that looks quite small. How silly I was! On offer was hot chicken and sweet corn soup - seasoned well and great consistency. Prawn cracker are brought to your table. Then we assaulted the starters. What a great selection which is frequently replenished by the hard-working staff! On offer is prawn toast, veg spring rolls, salt and pepper wings, salt and pepper fish bites, chicken skewers, juicy ribs, ham egg foo young, crispy seaweed and duck pancakes you make up yourself. All of these tasty morsels were hot and fresh. Then on the mains you have egg fried rice, noodles and chips with dishes including sweet and sour chicken, chicken curry, beef green pepper, bbq char Sui pork, crispy chilli beef, mixed veg in oyster sauce (juicy mushrooms in this) and prawns in a light sauce. I tried most of these and was really happy with the flavour and hotness of each. Then the dessert table with jelly, fresh mixed fruit, watermelon, oranges and banana fritters with syrup and cream! What a bonus! Overall, the attentive staff, great price and fresh food made this an absolute treat. Lovely for our kids to go and try multiple dishes and different flavours. They didn’t even want to go and now they’re asking to back! Well done Golden Bridge! We will be back and with more people!
Had a banquet meal on Thursday evening. The food was excellent, very tasty and refined. Also the service was excellent as the waiter had a very good manner. Two very minor suggestions to the Management - the lighting in the restaurant is just a bit too bright, and, although the toilet was very clean, it is in need of modernisation. However, the food and service are the key factors for this review, and both were excellent.
I went here by chance and the food was amazing there wasn't any faults. The service excellent and the place was very clean.
First time here and the food is absolutely gorgeous recommend anyone to eat here definitely be returning 10/10
Excellent food and lovely people. Proper Chinese food using excellent ingredients not your normal greasy stuff. If you want a great banquet or just a tasty takeaway this the place to go in Formby (in business at the same location for 25 years and in the village for more than 40)
Highly recommend this restaurant, delicious traditional Chinese food and nice atmosphere. We will be back here!
